Well! I've asked the bank to transfer the balance owing. I've made some online enquiries about insurance and registration. Major hurdle is an English address - think I've got that covered. The next will be once ACA receive the funds and will release the car. What to do with it. We were not due to arrive until 2nd July but I'm changing my ticket to depart Perth on the 29th June and arrive at Manchester on the 30th.

Why Manchester? Well, Heathrow is the pits and I told my wife if our travel took in LHR I'd stay home. Secondly as we are spending our time in Eire I though it advisable to get the car close to the Holyhead ferry. We also know a yound couple who live near Bradford and hoped they could provide a safe place to leave the car.
How to get the car to Manchester? I'd hoped the young friends would do it but so far I've not had any response to my email or telephone message. Without them I'm hoping to find a Citroen enthusiast who feels like a drive! I've priced a truck but that is 185 pounds. Likewise airport long term parking - 250 pounds. That is 450 pounds I'd rather have to spend on the car if necessary. Leaving it parked with ACA at King's Lynn is 20 pounds per week and it would cost me about 75 pounds to get the train from Heathrow.

My wife has just delivered the bad news to me. Our discussion with the travel agent before we committed to this plan lead us to believe that it was $150 per ticket to make alterations. WRONG! What she didn't tell us was that the airline (Emirates) apply penalties. For the seven of us that comes in at an additional $5,000 in penalties and additional charges.
Trying to be philosophical about it and not going out to slash my wrists I'm rationalising it to represent under $1000 each to see Lapland, four days in Paris and a visit to the Citroen Conservatoire
