1981 CX Reflex Familiale |
|
('Familiales' were wagon bodies fitted with three rows of seats and had seating for eight.)
This one of less than a dozen known, privately imported, Familiales and is one of two that were automatics.
Of the others one was a C-matic and five of the known cars have five speed manuals.
There were a mix of petrol (five) and diesel (three) engines. Some were injected and some diesels were turbo charged.
Others have unknown engines.

Well! What could I say? The car was checked for its safety certificate and was fine until the examiner noticed this.
Which led to closer inspection and revealed this!
What have I done? Is it a simple matter to remove the rusted longeron and fit in a new one?
The CX has a body shell mounted to a chassis in the sedan. It appears possible but without the
car to check I don't know! Emailed 'Kimmo' a Queenslander with several Familiales to see what he thought.
