From the papers you will see that the car was first registered at Canterbury, in England, on Wednesday 1st August, 1973. Rego: NFN 680 M
The original owner came to Australia and brought the car with him. He named her 'Eloyse'. In 1975 Ralph Hibble bought her and she remained in his ownership until April 2008. Rego: XFM 464 (15 May 1980) and on one document on 15 Aug 1980 had new disc brake pads fitted. Pads $80.50 and fitting $15.00.
The colour is AC 616ME and has been repainted in this original, Blue d'Orient, and it now has a white roof (originally Blue d'Orient). The seats and door trims are a blue velour (velours bleu) and have been re-covered in original material.

Have just received prices from Roger Parker (Sth Aust) for a number of items and comments on some:
  • 1) rubber bush on bulkhead mounting for accelerator linkage/rod : NEW $50
  • 2) spark plug 'tubes' - the long insulated tubes inside the rocker cover that the spark plug leads push into : NEW $7 each
  • 3) washer bottle cap DIFFICULT MANY DIFFERENT BOTTLES
  • 4) rubber boot at base of steering column (inside the engine bay) : NEW $65
  • 5) hand brake cable RHD MAKE COPY OF OLD ONE
  • 6) the rubber hose to connect the air filter to the carbie (the engine is a 2.3 fitted as a replacement to the original) : NEW $103
  • 7) the breather hose from the engine to the air intake hose (as in 1) above) ON ORDER : ABOUT $35
  • 8) straps to hold rear doors (both) from opening too far LOOK LIKE BOOMERANGS IN STEEL?
  • 9) plastic? pockets on bottom edge of both front doors NOT EASY BECAUSE SH USUALLY BROKEN
  • 10) steering column gear lever rubber 'boot' Manual or Semi-Auto? : MANUAL $15 S/A $25

    A broken cable and a missing 'link'

    During work on the engine I noticed a cable that was rusted through. It was also unattached and didn't seem to belong to anything. A query to aussiefrogs brought the answer that it was part of the headlight levelling system and the connection arm was missing.
