Peugeots

Peugeot 406 HDi Sedan: (2.0 turbo charged with intercooler) Purchased new in Jan 2000 it has done 130,000km (Mar 2008). Fuel consumption over that time has been 59mpg. Most of the running is longer distance trips cruising at 100-105kph. The best car I have driven and owned up until now. Cruise control and air conditioning (on all the time) make a huge difference to reducing fatigue. Putting sheep skin seat covers in also helps to keep you comfortable on a long trip (450km).

Handling and ride are exemplary and it tracks so well on its Michelin tyres. Have just put on the second set matching the originals. Around 60,000km per set is good and it maintains the excellent handling and roadholding.

Came standard with sill scuff plates, centre armrests, timber trims, HDi badge in front of front doors etc. Not as in the brochure as it seems the models sent to Australia seemed to vary from shipment to shipment depending on what the factory put together.
