Driving Citroen CXs across Australia
Going to Stanthorpe - for the 2011 Cit-in - along the way
In early 2011 an aussiefrogger advertised two Citroen CXs for sale. He was reducing his fleet and offered a rare machine - a 1981 Reflex Familiale.

The station wagon body was never sold in Australia and a small number were imported privately. Most were used by Australians in Europe and then shipped home when they returned.

This car was one of them and is one of only two known automatics in Australia. As a 'Familiale' or family model it has three rows of seats and can carry eight people.

I purchased the vehicle and was planning to fly to Brisbane and drive it back to Western Australia.

On hearing of my intention two fellow members of ACE (Association of Citroen Enthusiasts) asked me to consider delaying my collection of the car and timing the pick-up to co-incide with Cit-in 2011.

The intention was then to have three CXs travel from Stanthorpe to Adelaide and then back to WA.

In the week before I was due to fly to Brisbane I received a telephone call from Justin, at the car transporters, to tell me his car wasn't guaranteed to be in Brisbane for Easter. As a result he was not prepared to go as he may not have a car.

After a quick reflection I offered to drive the car to Brisbane for him.
